A research-led visual artist and creative storyteller specialising in documentary filmmaking, photography, and media practice. My work explores personal narratives to uncover untold stories that resonate within broader social, cultural, and political contexts. Through advertorial and documercial photography, alongside my role as an educator, I aim to provoke thought, challenge perspectives, and contribute to ongoing dialogues in contemporary visual culture.

India & United Kingdom

As an internationally published photographer and documentary filmmaker, I create visual narratives that capture authenticity and connect meaningfully with audiences.

Approach

  • It begins with understanding the thought processes of the creator and learning the specialities of the creation. The experiences are then translated into specialised visuals targeting specified audiences.

  • Documenting a paramount property or a tiny house nestled far away in the hills with every aspect of the built structure covered and combined with other interior elements like furniture, showpieces, faucets and lighting. The images to highlight on the construction, design and usability factors.

  • It could be anything from your great grandfather’s personal collection asserting great family and social reverence to a work of an artist holding great appraisals in prestigious galleries and auction houses; the values they hold are deeply understood and their significance is then translated into visuals for cataloging and public display.

  • Catalog, high fashion, street or editorial - the imageries are built to connect the maker to the marketplace. Sets and locations are chosen to enhance the liveliness of the creation targeting a particular segment of buyers in the ever expanding marketplace.

  • There is always a vibe a person sets in to the surrounding setting while engaging on an activity fuelled by passion. Appropriate aesthetics are chosen calling attention to the pure personality and its belongingness to the surrounding. The produced imageries contain concepts connecting documentary, editorial, advertising and commercial genres making it a new age advertorial and documercial targeted on engaging a specified bracket of patronage.

  • It is documentation of the built sets and film scenes for trade and promotional purposes. Chosen scenes are photographed for continuity purposes. Live on stage and offstage performances of theatre artists are shot for banners and public advertising.

  • It commences with the construction of a concept involving scripted narratives with openness to unscripted astonishments. Authenticity of the brand and its relatedness in the marketplace is established in the produced visuals. Principles and methods linking cross-cultural advertising to documentric practices are necessitated to produce trade describing content.

  • It is all about taking photographs of indigenous people, teams and significant events appropriate for magazines, newspapers and corporate newsletters.

It is not the seriousness of the technicality but the playfulness of the character that makes a photograph interesting !

Travel, culture, people, and nature are the driving forces in my life, and photography is my way of engaging with and expressing the world around me. I incorporate a documentary and photo-journalistic approach in my commercial, advertising, and editorial work to evoke nostalgia and capture the passage of time in our contemporary lives.

For me, photography is about composing captivating frames and lighting them creatively. I believe art transcends genres; my subjects are those who genuinely reflect their inner selves. I prefer to photograph them in their natural environments, crafting each frame to highlight their sense of belonging and authenticity.
